Common questions
Which banks work? Any US bank or credit union supported by Plaid, which covers the large majority of checking accounts.
Is my bank login stored? No. You sign in on Plaid's own screen. Flo receives a read-only access token, which is stored server-side and never on your phone.
How do I disconnect my bank or delete my account? Both are in the app under Settings. Deleting your account removes your bank connection and every piece of data we hold about you; it can't be undone.
How often does Flo sync? On its own, twice a day. You can also pull to refresh at any time.
Can I link credit cards and savings? Yes, as many accounts as you like. Card spending counts toward your budget categories, and the card's payment is forecast out of the account that pays it. Savings accounts are kept out of safe to spend and tracked against a goal.
How do notifications work? Turn them on in Settings → Notifications. You can choose a heads-up when your balance is headed below your floor in the next two weeks, a reminder three days before a card payment is due, or both. Neither shows an amount.
What is Smarter sorting? Optional AI help naming unfamiliar businesses and suggesting categories and a budget. It's off until you turn it on in Settings, and the privacy policy lists exactly what it sends.
Can I split a charge across categories? Yes. Once it has posted, open it in Activity or To sort and choose "Split across categories".
Can I use Flo without linking a bank? Yes. "Track by hand" lets you enter a starting balance and record what posts yourself. Everything else works the same.
